Blackpool is still Northwest England’s most popular seafront destination, after decades. From vertiginous rides at Blackpool Pleasure Beach to dodging chip-craving seagulls on the pier, there is still something endearing about the town’s Victorian charm. Howard Hotel

Family-run Howard hotel is a popular choice and the full cooked English breakfasts, included in the room price, are a favourite among previous guests. Homemade meals can also be bought in the evenings. The hotel is located along the North Promenade, only 10 minutes on foot from Blackpool Tower. There is also a tram stop 50m from the hotel linking you to the whole of Blackpool’s coastline. There’s a good view of the sea from the property, best enjoyed from the terrace with a drink from the hotel bar.
Sandford Promenade
Privates from £65/ night
Location is everything with Sandford Promenade. The South Pier and Blackpool Pleasure Beach are just 10 minutes’ walk away, while Blackpool Tower is 15 minutes away. Rooms come equipped with a tea and coffee maker, flatscreen TV, free toiletries and ironing facilities. There is an onsite bar and restaurant and the breakfast is an excellent fully-cooked affair. Family rooms are also available at this seafront property.
Hotel Craig-y-Don
Privates from £72/ night
The comfy, simple rooms at Craig-y-Don have a kettle and flatscreen TV. Communal facilities at the hotel include a game room, garden and terrace, and a bar and restaurant. Head outside and feel the sea breeze instantly. Both left and right are some of Blackpool’s best sights, as the hotel is sandwiched between the town’s South and Central piers. Wifi is available throughout, free of charge and there is occasionally evening entertainment at the hotel especially during high season.
Lyndene Hotel

Rooms at the Lyndene feel fresh and modern. There is good security at the hotel and rooms have small safes, big enough to fit a laptop inside. Other comforts include a hairdryer, kettle, heating and free toiletries. Breakfast is not included in the price here but can be purchased for a small additional fee. The hotel has its own bar and occasionally runs evening entertainment. Wifi is available throughout the building and there’s plenty of free parking space on site.
Hotel Ibis Styles
Privates from £56/ night
As a chain, Ibis often proves reliable and their Blackpool Styles branch is no different. The bright, perky décor lends the hotel an upbeat and energetic atmosphere. All rooms are spacious, en-suite and have basic services including a TV and a kettle. Breakfast is included in the price, adding value for money. The location directly opposite the North Pier and minutes from Blackpool Tower is ideal, and is housed in a lovely Grade II listed building.
