Baseball isn’t just an American past time anymore. The fever has swept its way into Canada, where the Toronto Blue Jays stand proud as the only non-American member of the MLB. If you find yourself in Toronto this season, it’s worth catching a game, but make sure you get the best prices for your tickets. We’ve put together a few of our recommended spots to purchase the cheapest Blue Jays baseball tickets this 2019 season, below. See what kind of prices you can expect, before you buy the first tickets you come across.
STUBHUB
Stubhub is the official MLB fan-to-fan marketplace and, as such, is the only place to buy secondary tickets, both for the regular season and for playoffs tickets, and be 100 percent certain that you’re receiving legitimate secondary tickets every time. The site is our top pick for several reasons, including its ease of search and overall use, its frequent great tickets prices and its typical large availability of seats.
For an idea of what you can expect when you purchase tickets from Stubhub for a Blue Jays game, let’s take a look at some of the upcoming games and their pricing. If you wanted to attend the July 2, Tuesday evening game at Rogers Centre in Toronto, tickets would start at $12 and would go all the way up to around $100. For a lower-level, infield seat behind first base, you’ll pay $60. When you click your seat, you’ll get a look (either a photo or a rendering) of what the view’s like from that particular seat. Additionally, Stubhub will tell you if there’s another seat nearby that’s better and close in price. Fees are around 30 percent, so the total cost of the ticket is $77.50. Tickets are delivered via the StubHub mobile app and appear on your phone within minutes of your purchase. Do note that some tickets on StubHub require you to purchase two at once, so look out for that as you’re browsing.
TICKETMASTER
Primary Blue Jays game tickets can be found on TicketMaster, which is the official Blue Jays ticket provider. All you have to do is search for “Blue Jays” and you’ll get a list of upcoming games to browse through, though you do have to click on each game individually to see starting ticket prices. Once you’re looking at a certain game, you can click on a map of the stadium to browse ticket prices by section, row and even individual seat.
If we’re looking at the same game versus the Boston Red Sox that takes place on July 2, and you’re wanting to sit in the same section, you’ll quickly see that tickets start at what looks to be $94.50, but don’t assume that this price is comparable just yet. Upon closer inspection, you’ll find that, while Stubhub is listing its Blue Jays tickets in U.S. dollars, TicketMaster is listing its ticket prices in Canadian dollars. So, your ticket would be CA $94.50, plus CA $7.50 in fees. This comes out to $77.31 total in U.S. dollars, just 19 cents cheaper than the tickets on Stubhub. Additionally, do note that TicketMaster allows you to buy just one ticket in this section, while Stubhub requires you to purchase two at once.
BUYING DIRECT
For season tickets and group tickets for Blue Jays games, you can only purchase them directly via the Blue Jays ticket office. Group tickets are available for only those parties of 20 or more, and discounted group rates apply only to tickets that are not A+ or A games.
For season tickets, you will have a dedicated account executive (ie, salesperson) to help you through the buying process. In addition to your season tickets, you’ll receive 20 percent off merchandise, exclusive early gate entrance and the opportunity to list unused tickets on StubHub for resale.
