Even if you’re not a baseball fan, watching a game at Yankee Stadium is an iconic American experience.

The New York Yankees are a storied part of American culture. Love them or hate them, there’s no denying their place in baseball history—after all, this is the team that produced such legends as Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, and Mickey Mantle.
Yankee Stadium is located in the Bronx, about 8 miles from Manhattan. The subway is, by far, the easiest and quickest way to get there—the ride typically takes around 30 minutes. The #4 train (East Side) and the D train (Sixth Avenue) make stops at the 161st Street/Yankee Stadium subway station, located on East 161st Street and River Avenue. On weekdays, you can also catch the The B train (Sixth Avenue). You can also catch the Metro-North train or take the bus. The Bx6 and Bx13 buses stop at East 161st Street and River Avenue; the Bx1 and Bx2 buses stop at East 161st Street and the Grand Concourse (a short walk is required); and the BxM4 stops at the Grand Concourse and East 161st Street (northbound) and East 158th Street (southbound). If you don’t feel comfortable using public transportation, you can always hail a cab or call a ride sharing service.
Single Game Tickets
Ticketmaster is the primary ticket vendor for the New York Yankees and therefore often has the best selection. One of the most popular ticketing sites in the United States, the site is easy to navigate and shows a map of the stadium so you can easily identify where the available seats are. Simply choose how many tickets you’d like and select your price range, and search results for your budget populate automatically. You can also select the “Pinstripe Pass” option which includes a free beverage (soda, bottled water, or a beer for fans 21 and older) or “Premium Seating” which offers access to several lounges with amenities such as premium views, food, and services. Once purchased, you can print your tickets at home, pick them up at will call, have them mailed to you, or use Mobile Entry to enter quickly and easily via flashing your phone.
How much are Yankees tickets? Well, that all depends on how much you want to splurge. You can pay hundreds for primo seats to the most popular playoff games, but there are definitely deals to be had during the regular season. We searched for tickets to the August 19, 2021 game against the Minnesota Twins, at which standard ticket prices start at $10 for the outfield. With a $4.40 service fee and a $3.30 processing fee, the total ticket price is $17.70—a two-thirds upcharge to face value, but still a great deal to be part of the action. For $45, we found excellent seats in Row 6 near left field, lessening the blow from the service fees.

Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more people, so if you’re planning to entertain friends, family, or business clients, this is a fun and affordable outing that creates positive memories. You can also add the “New York Yankees Meal Deal’ to your group ticket purchase to make sure everyone stays satiated. Two options are available – the $20 Meal Deal (regular sized hot dog or chicken tenders, French fries, and your first drink (a bottled water, soda, or 12 oz. domestic beer for guests 21 and older) and the $12 Meal Deal (a regular sized hot dog and your first drink). You can also arrange for a suite, which offers many more amenities.
Where to Park
Should you choose to visit Yankee Stadium by car, you’ll need to plan (and pay) to park. The stadium is accessible from the Major Deegan Expressway (Interstate 87) at exit 4 (northbound) and exit 5 (southbound). The team does not maintain their parking lots—that is the city’s responsibility and therefore prepaid individual game parking must be obtained from City Parking via online reservation or calling (718) 588-7817. Full and partial-season parking packages for Season Ticket Licensees can be purchased at a discount off the game-day parking rate. As in any similar situation, take care to not leave valuables in your vehicle and lock the doors.
