For private yacht charter guests, the idyllic coastal stretches of the southern Mediterranean are especially well equipped, with several charter companies offering yacht rental deals in the region – including a handful based in Italy itself. Whether you’re looking for a bareboat or crewed charter, a sailboat or a motorboat, there are a wide range of yachts available for visitors. We’ve selected three of the best companies currently in operation that we’d recommend for Italian yacht charters below.

Ritzy Charters

Ritzy Charters offers hundreds of yachts in the area – particularly around the Amalfi Coast and Sardinia – spanning multiple vessel styles and sizes, including motorboats, sailing boats and catamarans. For the Amalfi Coast, in particular, a motor yacht is a more comfortable option, although you can also find some excellent monohulls and cats to charter here. According to our searches, the cheapest available boat currently listed for charter in Italy is priced at $1,500 per week, which gets you a 63-foot sailboat. The booking process is simple too – you just fill in a form with some essential details, including number of guests, dates and itinerary, then you ask for a quote and wait for the company to return a list of available yachts that reflect your criteria.

Yachtco

A popular choice for both crewed and bareboat charters, Yachtco are an intermediary who work with a wide network of local yacht charter companies across the Mediterranean. When we searched for available vessels in Italy, we found a large number of affordable yachts, as well as more luxurious options including catamaran charter boats that combine comfort, style and speed. If you send a booking request with your preferred dates of travel and other specifications, Yachtco pledge to get back to you with a quote within 24 hours.

Click&Boat

Click & Boat is a peer-to-peer platform that we would recommend for charters of between one and three days, owing to the large number of vessels available with a day rate. The site invites boat owners to post listings for their vessels along with pictures, specifications and price. Prospective renters can then contact them directly via an online messaging service to ask any questions, as well as view feedback from previous renters of their boat. Bareboat rentals are the cheapest option, but you can also have a captain onboard for an additional cost. When we searched for boat rentals in Italy, there were over 100 vessels available, with the cheapest option a  14-metre sailboat that can accommodate up to 8 people across four cabins and is, available to rent with a skipper out of Cagliari in Sardinia for $44 per day.
