The Best Campgrounds and RV Parks near Nashville

Best known as the capital of country music, Nashville and its surroundings are also blessed with natural beauty – among which are some top class campgrounds and RV Parks.

If you’re visiting Nashville and would like to embark on a camping adventure during your stay, we’ve looked into all the options and, based on our research, selected some of the best campgrounds that can be found within a short drive of the city. We’ve also included sites that accommodate recreational vehicles for overnight stays. Here’s our pick.

Elm Hill RV Resort

Situated on a peninsula overlooking Percy Priest Lake, 13 miles east of Nashville, Elm Hill RV Resort combines a scenic setting with a whole host of top class camping and RV services and amenities. There are a total of 131 full-hook up sites with cable and Wi-Fi included, while fun and recreation is never far away thanks to the sanded beach area, outdoor pool and pavilion. Water-based activities are on offer too, with boat, kayak and paddleboards available to hire and take out onto the lake. For relaxation, fire pits, benches and picnic tables are dotted throughout the resort.

Located in the outskirts of the city of Lebanon, 29 miles east of Nashville, this year-round campsite offers easy highway access from Route 40. The venue has electricity, water, free Wi-Fi, and sewer connections to help make for a comfortable and convenient stay, while on-site sports and recreational facilities include a swimming pool, a playground and a basketball court. For a change of scenery, there are a handful of decent restaurants within easy reach of the campsite too.

Grand Ole RV Resort and Market

Spread across 13 acres in historic city of Goodlettsville, 15 miles north of Nashville, the Grand Ole RV Resort and Market is a quintessential family-owned campground and resort. Encapsulating the authentic charm of southern hospitality, the venue offers 130 full hookup campsites surrounded by shade trees, well-maintained landscaping, and clean and spacious picnic areas. There’s also an on-site general store stocked with snacks, ice-cold drinks, RV accessories, propane, and more, and guests can also make use of laundry facilities.

Four Corners RV Resort

Positioned on the banks of Percy Priest Lake, with beautiful waterside views, this resort 20 miles southwest of Nashville offers 95 full hookup RV Sites available for short or long-term stays and ranging from 50-70 feet in length, complete with firepit and picnic table. Pet friendly and fully gated, the site offers a whole host of amenities, including a saltwater pool, jet ski, paddle board, kayak and golf cart rentals. There’s also an on-site marina with a full fleet of boats available to rent for everything from fishing trips to a relaxed ride on the lake.

Music City Campground

Twenty miles south of Nashville, Music City Campground features a total of 67 full hookup campsites, 11 of which allow for pull-through access. The park is also big-rig accessible, offers free WiFi, and allows pets, while other amenities and services include hot showers, restrooms laundry facilities and numerous walking trails for guests to make the most of the picturesque rural setting. Nearby to the campground is also a number of notable attractions and places of interest including Grand Ol’ Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame, and Opry Mills Mall.

Cages Bend Campground

Resting on the shores of Old Hickory Lake, 26 miles northeast of Nashville, Cages Bend Campground has a wide range of electric and water hookups. Recreation here revolves around the beautiful lakeside setting, with a boat ramp for easy lake access, along with swimming, sailing and fishing opportunities. Wildlife spotting is popular too, thanks to the white-tailed deer, migratory song birds and waterfowl that are abundant in the area. Other on-site facilities include a playground, showers, a picnic shelter, and laundry servicers.

Part of an expansive and hugely popular family resort featuring a vast waterpark and a treetop adventure park, the RV Resort at Nashville Shores is a family-friendly campers’ paradise packed with first-class amenities and scenic views, and located just 10 miles from downtown Nashville. There are 84 RV sites, including beautiful waterfront accommodations, back-in and pull-thru sites, a shuttle to downtown Nashville, and exclusive discounts to all the resort’s attractions. There’s also a 310-slip marina with boat and jet ski rentals available, a BBQ restaurant, a dog park, a laundromat, a bathhouse, and a playground.

Nashville North KOA Journey

Kampgrounds of America (KOA) are renowned for their campsites across the US and Canada, and their Nashville North venue, 17 miles north of the city’s downtown district, has many of the same enticing attributes as its acclaimed counterparts. Offering year-round camping and fun, the site features a large number of full-hookup RV sites, camping cabins, a Pet Park, outdoor concert pavilion, swimming pool, shuffleboard courts, kid’s playground, 24-hour laundry,  restrooms, free WiFi and a well-stocked general store. Once a week food truck vendors also rock up to serve delectable dishes against a backdrop of live country music performed in the concert pavilion.

A locally owned RV park in the city of Lebanon, 30 miles east of Nashville, Shady Acres features 140 full hookup campsites, is big-rig accessible and allows pets. The site has a no reservations policy and instead welcomes campers on a first come first serve basis, with daily, weekly and extended rates available. Open year round, there’s also an outdoor swimming pool, picnic tables, showers, restrooms, laundry facilities, and free Wi-Fi. Nearby attractions include the Grand Ol’ Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame, and Opry Mills Mall.

Poole Knobs Campground

A lakeside oasis in the green hills of Tennessee, 27 miles southeast of Nashville, Poole Knobs provides campers with countless recreational water-based activities as well as on the surrounding woods and grasslands. The site has a total of 87 shaded and spacious campsites, along with one larger group camping site. Amenities include drinking water, a dump station, flush toilets and hot showers, ensuring a comfortable camping experience. A boat ramp is also provided, allowing guests to take advantage of the vast, sparkling lake.
