Most visitors will touch down at Miami International Airport (MIA), a enormous airport lying 9km north of downtown Miami.

Most Affordable: Alamo
For the cheapest car rentals at MIA Airport, we recommend Alamo. From their office based at the Miami Rental Car Center, they offer everything from a cheap car rental like a Mitsubishi Mirage and Ford Fiesta to slightly bigger more expensive models such as a Toyota Rav and Hyundai Elantra. For their smallest models, you can expect to pay around $90 per days and for larger vehicles, around $5-10 more.
It’s worth noting that all rental car companies listed at RentalCars are trustworthy, so it’s quite safe to just pick the lowest rental for your dates. However, we would recommend that you stick with a company that is located at the airport terminal of MIA Airport.
Best for luxury: Sixt
Out of the 14 agencies operating out of MIA Airport, our favourite for a luxury car is Sixt. They combine an expansive selection of cars with excellent customer reviews and a cancellation policy of $100 for prepaid bookings if you cancel 24hrs in advance. Among the stand-out convertibles in their fleet, we found a BMW Series2 and Z4 and a Ford Mustang Convertible. For anyone renting regularly from Sixt, we fully recommend signing up to one of their benefit cards (Express, Gold, Platinum, Diamond) that offer varying degrees of discounts and perks, depending on the number of rentals and price of rental cars.
Best of Minivans: National
Renowned for having some of the best deals of vans and MVPs, National (part of Enterprise) are the go-to guys for families and groups who want the travel around Miami. When we searched for people carriers at MIA Airport, we found numerous options available. Among them was the Dodge Gran Caravan at $540 per day and the 15-seater Ford Transit at $624 per day. National picks up extremely favourable feedback from customers, scoring 8.6 out of 10 on popular car rental site rentalcars.com.
