St Lucia may not be a big place – at 617 km² it is less than half the size of London – but it sure packs a lot in. With soaring mountain peaks, deep rainforest, turquoise waters and swaying palm trees, this is a picturesque island paradise where you can choose to zipline through the forests, soak in volcanic mud baths, or just kick back on the beach. Even though one of St Lucia’s charms is its wildness, with plenty of places to explore, there are some great luxury resorts where you can just take it easy when you’re not out and about – here are some of the best.

Jade Mountain

Jade Mountain is a premier resort in an enviable location on a small bay and a mountain backdrop. Sitting on St. Lucia’s south-western Caribbean coastline it is a paradise of organic architecture and beautiful, natural scenic beauty – making the resort at one with its natural environment was a priority for Architect owner Nick Troubetzkoy. The interiors are simply stunning, with infinity pools built into the rooms and many looking out over the mountains. If you want something really special for your stay in St Lucia, Jade Mountain is simply one of the most magical places to stay on the island. From €1.6K.
