Where to Buy Benfica Football Tickets

One of Portugal’s biggest football clubs, Benfica play their home games at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon, and for those keen to attend a match there are plenty of ticket options online.

Opened in 2003, the ultra-modern, multi-purpose arena replaced the original Estádio da Luz in a move that reduced its capacity by almost half – from a whopping 120,000 to just 64,000. As a result, official tickets are at more of a premium than ever before, and for big games against historical rivals and top-of-the-table challengers they can be rarer than rocking horse teeth. But fear not, there are still ways to watch Benfica in the flesh – and we’ve picked out two below.

Viagogo

The Viagogo ticket resale and exchange platform is simple to use and if you book more than one ticket, the seats are guaranteed to be next to each other, so you won’t be separated from the people accompanying you. All tickets are issued as printable E-Tickets, so you don’t need to worry about them getting lost in the post. As for availability, when we searched, there were tickets on offer for all upcoming Benfica home fixtures, with pricing as low as €13 for certain lesser profile clashes. However, prices can often rise much higher for more prestigious games such as versus Porto or Sporting Lisbon when they tend to be closer to €120. Champions League games are also usually at a premium, too, with the cheapest tickets for Barcelona in January available from €82. There are also some add-on costs to look out for, including having to pay 20%-30% of the total ticket price in fees. As well as standard admission tickets, Viagogo also sell hospitality packages which you find with the easy-to-use Premium tickets filter.

StubHub International

Founded in 2000, StubHub quickly became a major player in the ticket resale sector. Sellers can price tickets how they desire, but helpfully the website shows you the face value price of each ticket so you can judge the value for yourself. Tickets can be delivered physically, as print-at-home, or as a mobile transfer. Availability tends to be excellent, and when we searched we found tickets on offer for every approaching Benfica game, with prices starting at just £15 for less prestigious fixtures. Additional fees for service, delivery and VAT work out at around £35 per ticket, and there’s a slider option that lets you view these extra costs before you book. StubHub also offer a FanProtect Guarantee that protects you against anything going wrong with your tickets.
