The island of Capri in Italy’s Bay of Naples has long attracted a glamorous crowd, but you don’t need to be super-rich to experience a magical yacht charter adventure here.
Renowned for its rugged landscape, upscale hotels and shops, and the natural wonder known as Blue Grotto, Capri’s cove-studded coastline draws large numbers of visitors every year, including many who come to explore its pristine waters on a memorable yacht charter. Most of the big name charter companies offer yachts for rent in and around Capri – and we’ve highlighted three of the best below.
Ritzy
Ritzy Charters offers hundreds of yachts in the area around Capri, spanning multiple vessel styles and sizes, including motorboats, sailing boats and catamarans. For the Amalfi Coast, in particular, a motor yacht is a more comfortable option, although you can also find some excellent monohulls and cats to charter here. According to our searches, the cheapest available boat currently listed for charter in this part of Italy is priced at €10,980 per week, which gets you a 60-foot sailboat which sleeps 8 across 4 cabins. The booking process is simple too – you just fill in a form with some essential details, including number of guests, dates and itinerary, then you ask for a quote and wait for the company to return a list of available yachts that reflect your criteria.
Boatbookings
Another well-established industry name, Boatbookings have almost 200 vessels available for Capri charters, with pretty much every budget and preference catered for. Among them are yachts ranging from 10 to 86 metres, 18 of which are offered as bareboat (no skipper or crew) and the rest as crewed yachts. Boatbookings claim to personally inspect every boat they list and they also offer a handy reviews section so you can read about the experiences of previous guests on any vessel that catches your eye. What’s more, the online search function allows you to search for specific on-board equipment such as sport fishing or scuba gear.
Click&Boat
Click & Boat is a peer-to-peer platform that invites boat owners post listings for their vessels along with pictures, spec and price, and cater most strongly to those seeking short-term charters of anything from a couple of hours through to a day at sea. Prospective renters can contact owners directly via an online messaging service to ask any questions, as well as view feedback from previous guests. As is always the case with yacht charters, bareboat rentals are the cheapest option, but you can also have a captain onboard for an additional cost. When we searched for boat rentals in Capri, there were over 100 vessels available, with the cheapest option a 6-metre motorboat that can accommodate up to 6 people, available with a skipper and priced at €184 per day before fees.
