One of America’s most historic and enduringly fascinating cities, Boston attracts huge numbers of visitors every year, all of whom are catered for by a wide choice of accommodation options. If it’s a modern, cutting-edge hotel that you’re after, then there’s plenty of choice within that category, including several hotels that have recently opened their doors in the city’s historic Back Bay district. We’ve picked out some of the best new hotels that Boston has to offer.

Raffles

One of the world’s most luxurious hotel brands, Raffles welcomed their latest US property back in May 2023. Featuring an array of lavish amenities, including a gourmet restaurant, a stylish bar, an indoor pool and sauna, a fitness centre and a scenic terrace, the hotel combines a prime location with everything needed for a luxurious stay. Guest rooms are no less impressive, boasting sumptuous décor, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. A choice of à la carte, continental or American breakfasts are served daily. The imposing Prudential Tower, with its 52nd-floor observation deck, is just minutes away on foot. From $672 per night.

Charlesgate Suites

Originally built in 1895 as an upscale single-family townhouse, the stately brick rowhouse that in July 2023 became Charlesgate Suites epitomises the classical revival style that defined an area of Boston often referred to as the “Paris of New England.” Marking a turning point for this historic gem, new life was breathed into the property through meticulously crafted cosmetic updates and urban furnishings. The result is a seamless blend of contemporary comfort and timeless elegance, seen both in the property’s lavish studios and apartments and its public areas, some of which come equipped with a kitchenette. Popular points of interest nearby include Hynes Convention Center and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. From $304 per night.
