Approximately 3.5 million people visit the TD Garden in Boston every year, and most of those people are fans of the Boston Celtics.

A prestigious basketball force from the east coast, the Boston Celtics play in NBA’s Eastern Conference and are one of five teams in the Atlantic Division. The Celtics have made the playoffs 59 times since their start in 1946 when the governing body was known as the Basketball Association of America and the team is one of only two original NBA teams still located in their original city. Stars like Larry Bird, Bill Russell, and Paul Pierce lifted the team to 17 championships. The Celtics main rivals are the Los Angeles Lakers.
TD Garden opened in 1995 and is the home of the Celtics and the Boston Bruins hockey team, which are both owned by billionaire Jeremy Jacobs. The complex replaced the aging Boston Garden in the city’s West End, which is also the most densely populated area of Boston. Over the years the building has been modified and renovated to remain up to date with modern technology, including the addition of a new jumbotron and sound system in 2021. Fans who want seats to a 2022 – 2023 game have options ranging from discount tickets to luxury suites.
Single Game Tickets
The TD box office is located in the adjacent North Station concourse, between the Boston Garden Society lobby and the entrance to the new MBTA passageway. Home game tickets can be purchased in person and the box office does not take ticket orders over the phone. Cheap, single game tickets can be found online via StubHub. Searching for Boston Celtics on StubHub brings results from home and away games, so make sure to choose the correct venue.
Locating available tickets on StubHub is easy. Search for Boston Celtics and find the correct game date and opponent. Selecting a specific event requires choosing the number of tickets needed, which enables an arena map with highlighted sections showing where seats are available. The column on the left of the website defaults to the most affordable seats, usually found in the upper levels of the Garden. A slider on the right side of the page allows buyers to adjust a price range. Available tickets and seat locations are highlighted on the arena map. Conversely, by clicking on a section on the stadium map the left column displays only seats available in the selected section sorted from cheapest to most expensive tickets. The right column on the StubHub site allows fans to refine the seat search based on number of seats available, price, and features like wheelchair access, parking passes, and aisle seats. Tickets found on StubHub can either be resale tickets from previous purchasers or standard tickets from the sports team.
How much are Celtics tickets? Cost depends on how to view the contest. Single seats are often a few dollars more than cheap tickets purchased in pairs or more. The most affordable tickets at the Garden are in the 400 level and are rarely found as low as $24 each. Ticket cost increases due to popularity of the opposing matchup, so it is cheaper when the Houston Rockets are in town and more expensive when the Lakers visit. The most expensive tickets are courtside VIP and floor seats, especially those located behind the team benches. StubHub recommends downloading the mobile app for the best use of digital tickets. Once logged in, purchased tickets will appear under the My Tickets tab along with an order history and order number. From here users can view tickets for admission into the venue. A ticket notice is also sent to the purchasing account email. StubHub suggests making sure the tickets are what was ordered, and the purchaser’s name does not need to be on tickets. The face value of the ticket may differ from price paid.
Group and Specialty Tickets
The newest seating addition at the Garden is the Rafters membership, which provides seats with a unique, overhead view of the center. Membership is good for Celtics and Bruins games as well as concerts and family shows. Member benefits include priority access, member-only events, and a private entrance. The club level is closer to the action and offers plush seating, access to premiere lounges, and early admission. Located on the east end of the Garden is the Ford SportsDeck, offering an active, bar-like atmosphere. Tickets for the Ford SportsDeck, which include complimentary, all-you-can-eat appetizers, are purchased in membership packages. High end amenities include lofts and suites for groups.
Arriving at the venue
Accessing the venue is easy via public transportation. The TD Garden is located directly above the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s North Station, which links to seven subway and rail lines including connections to Logan Airport. Vehicle parking, including EV charging spots, is located in the North Station Garage and the flat rate is $54 for events. Alternate parking can be found through spothero.com for as low as $9 via privately run spaces less than one mile from the Garden.
