In 2012, New York’s own Jay-Z opened the Barclays Center, which welcomed the Brooklyn Nets to their new home in the city’s Prospect Heights neighborhood.
The Brooklyn Nets, formerly the New Jersey Nets, play in the NBA’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. The team’s roots start as the New Jersey Americans in 1967 as part of the defunct American Basketball Association. Including their seasons with the ABA, the Nets have made 30 postseason appearances and their two championships have come with the ABA in ’73 and ’75.
The Nets made the move to Brooklyn for the 2012-13 season after having played in neighboring New Jersey for 35 seasons. Their new home, Barclays Center, is part of a $4.9 billion business and residential complex called Pacific Park. The project faced many legal and social hurdles and plans for the arena changed several times before its ultimate completion in 2012. The Center is designed specifically for basketball and the exterior incorporates design elements to reflect the historical architecture of Brooklyn. The Nets share a crosstown rivalry with the New York Knicks. Fans who want seats to a 2022 – 2023 regular season or playoff game have options ranging from discount tickets to luxury suites.
Single Game Tickets
The box office, sponsored by American Express, is located in the atrium just inside the main arena off Atlantic Avenue. The box office is open Monday through Saturday and home game tickets can be purchased in person. Cheap, single game tickets can be found online via StubHub. Choose the correct venue when searching for Brooklyn Nets on StubHub as results come for both home and away games.
Locating available tickets on StubHub is easy. Search for Brooklyn Nets and find the correct game date and opponent. Selecting a specific event first requires entering the number of tickets needed. An arena map with highlighted sections shows available seats. The left column of the website defaults to the most affordable seats, usually found in the upper levels. A slider on the right side of the page allows buyers to adjust the selections by price. Available tickets and seat locations are highlighted on the arena map. Conversely, by clicking on a section on the stadium map the left column displays only seats available in the selected section. Tickets are listed in descending order from cheapest to most expensive tickets. The right column on the StubHub site allows fans to refine the seat search based on number of seats available, price, and features like wheelchair access, parking passes, and aisle seats. Tickets found on StubHub can either be resale tickets from previous purchasers or standard tickets from the sports team.
How much are Nets tickets? Cost depends on several factors and single seats are often a few dollars more than cheap tickets purchased in pairs or more. The most affordable tickets at the Center are in the 200 level and can be found as low as $24 each depending on the opponent and how far in advance tickets are purchased. The most expensive tickets are courtside VIP and floor seats, especially those located behind the team benches. StubHub recommends downloading the mobile app for the best use of digital tickets. After logging into the app, purchased tickets appear under the My Tickets tab along with an order history and order number. Users can view tickets for admission into the venue. A ticket notice is also sent to the purchasing account email. StubHub suggests making sure the tickets are as ordered; the purchaser’s name does not need to be on the tickets. Face value of the ticket may differ from the price paid.
Group Tickets
The Nets have several ticketing options for groups. Group tickets offer fan experience options like participation in the cheer tunnel, pregame shoot arounds, and anthem buddies. The Center is home to four clubs with specialty dining and seating. Groups of 10 or more can save money by loading a ticket with food and beverage credits. Loge boxes and luxury suites offer an elevated game experience.
Where to Park
The Barclays Center does not own or operate any parking garages. A list of eight, recommended parking areas can be found on the Center website. The event space is adjacent to one of the largest transit hubs in New York with access to six subway lines.
