While it might be cheaper than ever to travel between the two cities on a budget airline flight, those keen to reduce their carbon footprint will want to avoid this gas-guzzling option. For a cheaper, cleaner and greener experience, buses are best. If you’re thinking about travelling from London to Paris by bus, we’ve analysed the best direct options, taking into consideration price, cancellation policy, facilities, comfort and customer reviews.

FlixBus

Flixbus is now one of the best-known bus companies in Europe and the USA. The company runs around 10 services per day, from 07:30 until 00:05 the following day. Journey times are generally shorter than its competitor too, ranging between 8 hours 30 minutes and 9 hours 30 minutes. Most services depart from London Victoria Station, though there are also direct services from North Greenwich and Stratford, which makes them the best options for travellers staying in East and South London. All services terminate at Bercy-Seine, in the 12th arrondissement. Busses are clean, reliable and on time, with WiFi and power outlets on board. It’s worth booking your ticket in advance as prices rise closer to the departure time. From £29.99

The platform offers fewer services per day, with an average of 1–5 journeys though prices are significantly cheaper than FlixBus when booked at short notice. All services depart from London Victoria Station, with some arriving at Bercy-Seine and others at Charles de Gaulle Airport, which makes it the best option for those catching a flight. Busses are air-conditioned and feature power outlets, though seats do not recline and WiFi is not available. From £29.47.
