Eindhoven Airport (EIN) is located 8km west of Eindhoven. It is the Netherland’s second largest airport serving an estimated 6.2 million passengers every year.
If you’re landing at Eindhoven airport and need a car rental, there are five major companies to choose from: Avis, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt. All of them are located in the office building to the right of the main terminal as you exit. From here, the city of Eindhoven is only a short drive away from the airport.
To determine which rental car companies offer the best vehicles across our three categories (Most Affordable, Best for Luxury, Best for Minivans), TravelMag.com carefully researched prices, availability, policies and customer reviews of the 5 car rental companies operating out of EIN. Here are our findings
Most Affordable: Europcar
People looking for cheap car rentals at Eindhoven Airport should head towards the Europcar or Avis counter. There’s actually very little to choose between these the two, however, Europcar does have the slightly better pricing and, on the whole, attracts positive reviews from customers. Reviewers are particularly complimentary about the helpfulness of the staff and the cleanliness of the cars, as well as the short time it takes to pick up and drop off the vehicle. On the dates we researched, Europcar had both a Volkswagen Up and a Toyota Aygo at a little under €110 per day.
Best for Luxury: Sixt
If you have some important meetings and need to impress or you’re just planning on cruising around this part of the Netherlands in style, then Sixt is your best option. Sixt’s fleet includes many luxury rental cars like the Audi A3 Limousine and the Audi A4 Avant and cars from Mercedes Benz and BMW which are perfect for highway driving. As is the case wherever there are Sixt offices, user’s reviews are globally positive, averaging close to 9/10 at this particular branch.
Best for Minivans: Alamo
We struggled to find any company renting minivans at Eindhoven Airport. However, for medium-sized families, we found Alamo to have the most affordable options. Amongst their fleet, there are full-size sedans and several SUVs with enough space for the a family of five. Naturally, because of the present state of the car rental market, none of these options are especially cheap; on our selected dates, Alamo was renting out Suzuki Vitara at a little over €170 per day and the Hyundai I40 Wagon at €205 per day.
