Situated 70 miles due east of San Francisco in middle of San Joaquin Valley, Stockton is the 13th largest city in California. Surrounded by thousands of miles of waterways, there are many ways to experience the beauty, diversity, and fun in this culturally diverse city. Fifteen miles south of Stockton lies Manteca, a city that calls itself, the “Family City”. Until recently, Manteca existed primarily on agriculture however in recent times, its relatively inexpensive real estate has made it a popular choice for people commuting with the San Fran Bay Area.

Stockton – Avis
On researching the best car rental agency in Stockton, Avis and Budget had very similar prices and selection of cars. However on looking a little closer at user’s comments, Avis received better feedback on customer service and speed of pick up and drop off of their vehicles. They also have a wider range of cars in the mid-range and luxury categories which, given the nature of the demographic in this area, are both popular. Stockton Airport – Enterprise
As Stockton Metropolitan Airport is more about flying out than flying in, there are only three rental cars operating at the airport of which Enterprise is the closest. Enterprise is particularly good for families with a strong selection of SUVs and full-size cars for rent. Child and booster seats and a GPS are also available for an additional fee. On the sample dates we looked at, their cheapest car rental prices were on par with the other rental car companies operating at the airport. Manteca – Hertz
Out of the two car rental companies operating in Manteca, we chose Hertz. For one, Hertz has one of the best loyalty programs in the car rental business. The Hertz Gold Plus Rewards membership offers discounts and even free rental using a point system and allows renters to skip the rental counter entirely and go straight to their pre-assigned car. On our chosen dates, in early summer, Hertz had cars starting off at $50 per day in the cheap car rental category, ascending to $150 for vehicles at the top of the range.
