The Most Expensive City Hotels in the United States

New York City is home to the priciest urban hotel in the United States, according to a survey conducted by TravelMag.com

The survey compared all luxury hotels located within US cities based on their rates for the most affordable double room during October 2024.

With a minimum rate of $1,524 per night for the least expensive room, The Lowell Hotel leads the rankings. Located near Central Park on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the hotel is housed in a historic building and features wood-burning fireplaces and landscaped terraces with city views.

Only slightly more affordable is the Four Seasons DC in Washington, DC, where you will have to spend a minimum of $1,519 per night. Completing the podium is another New York City hotel, The Peninsula, where guests will have to spend an average of $1,500 per night.

Meanwhile, the recently opened Regent Santa Monica Beach ranks as the 5 th most expensive hotel at $1,475 per night. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the beachfront hotel features a contemporary restaurant, a large fitness centre and a 4th floor elevated pool with fire pits and oceanfront views.

A total of 14 out of the 20 most expensive hotels are located in New York City. Florida’s priciest hotel is the Four Seasons at The Surf Club, located in Miami, with a minimum rate of $1,265 per night.
