The Tennessee capital is better known for country music but in 2001 the Nashville Superspeedway opened, hosting a series of high octane races. NASCAR, in case you didn’t know, is short for the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, and is quite simply one of the most exciting forms of motorsport on the planet. NASCAR races are flat out on oval circuits, the cars hitting almost 200mph, door handle to door handle, all while you eat a hotdog and drink a cola a few metres away. But you don’t always have to be just watching the action. Stock Car Drive Time Trial Racing Experience
This is a great experience to build your speed and have plenty of track time to find your potential. You’ll be hitting the Nashville Superspeedway, a 50,000 seat, 1.330-mile tri-oval intermediate race track in Lebanon, Tennessee, which opened in 2001. There is no lead car to follow so the track is all yours and you can put the pedal to the metal. Also included in the driving experience is a brief driving school beforehand to help understand the car. A personal pro racing driver is also on hand to answer any questions you may have. From $999.

NASCAR Ride, 3 Laps, Nashville Speedway

If it’s just a taster of NASCAR you are after then this experience is just three laps with a pro driver but it is a bargain way to get inside a real racing car. The actual car you will be a passenger in was driven by some of the biggest names in the sport and is a finely-tuned competition vehicle. Following a safety briefing you will join the driver and be strapped into a five-point safety harness before three adrenaline-filled laps of one of America’s most challenging speedways. Nashville Superspeedway – Track Time 48 minutes
If you really want to go all out on a NASCAR experience then this has to be the ultimate. It’s 48 minutes long so you really get a feel for the endurance needed to race at the top level – professional races are between two and four hours long – and is hard to beat. It’s certainly not cheap but if you can afford it this is the best way to really nail that lap time. The track time is divided up into six eight minute sessions back to back with pit stops in between, with the aim of steadily improving your speeds each time.
