New Hotel Openings in Los Angeles 2024 / 2025

How many celebrities can you fit inside one hotel room? Thankfully, in Los Angeles this is a joke without a punchline, owning to the conveyer belt of new hotels that routinely pop up across the city ready to accommodate everyone from A-Listers to Joe Public.

For many who know it from the movies, Los Angeles might seem like nothing more than a cinematic backdrop. In reality, it’s a bustling city full of great things to see and do for visitors of every kind -and catering to them are a huge choice of places to stay for a night, weekend or longer. If you’re keen on staying somewhere fresh and new, we’ve rounded up the best hotel openings in LA from the past year, along with one exciting spot to look forward to.

Burton House

In May 2024, Burton House Beverly Hills, a newly renovated boutique hotel on the south end of Beverly Drive, opened its doors to great fanfare. Formerly a hospital, the all-suite hotel blends style and comfort with cutting-edge amenities including a robot butler – fittingly named “Beverly” – who helps deliver food, drinks and other items to guests. Other stand-out features include a yoga and Pilates studio, and a swanky lounge area where coffee, cocktails and light bites are served. As for the hotel’s design, it mixes 1930s glamour with modern touches, and guest rooms have the look and feel of chic urban apartments. Downtown LA is about a 25-minute drive away. Kodō Hotel

Around the same time, the curtain came up on Kodō Hotel, a chic nine-room boutique spot in downtown L.A.’s Arts District. Housed on the same site as a nearly 100-year-old former fire station, the hotel exudes a minimalist Japanese-ryokan vibe, with sleek concrete floors, low-profile beds, and loft-like ceilings. Each room’s highlight is the floating bathroom with a sculptural freestanding sink and circular mirror, offering a serene escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. The hotel’s ground-floor restaurant serves everything up Japanese-themed fair and a cosy outdoor patio is ideal for relaxing with a pre-dinner drink or a nightcap. The Hampton Inn & Suites

The tail end of 2024 saw the arrival of a second Hilton-owned Hampton Inn property in Los Angeles since the start of the year – following the opening of the Hampton Inn LA Airport airport hotel. This latest opening is situated in central Hollywood, about a 20-minute walk from the Hollywood Hall of Fame. The laid-back hotel features an outdoor pool, a fitness centre, a business centre and convenience store. Guests can also start their day with a continental breakfast served each morning. Guest rooms come with a TV, a fridge, a work desk and a private bathroom. Popular Hollywood attractions like Madame Tussauds, Paramous and Universal, and the Pantages Theater are all an easy drive away. From $196 per night.

Sonder The Craftsman

Catering to those who want access to ‘home from home’ amenities during their stay, The Craftsman aparthotel opened early last year, just a stone’s throw from the bustling heart of downtown LA. It’s got everything you could need to feel like you’re in your own pad, including kitchens complete with a dishwasher, toaster and oven. The rooms are simple but stylish, each one equipped with a flat-screen TV, comfy bed linens and a bathroom that’s a cut above. The property’s location puts you close enough to all the action – including the Staples Center, the Microsoft Theater, and the California Science Center – yet it still retains a quiet, calm ambience. Mama Shelter

Known for its playful, eclectic design and social atmosphere, the Mama Shelter hotel brand has been proliferating in recent years with new locations popping up in major cities worldwide. Next year, it is slated to add Los Angeles to its portfolio. Set in Hollywood, the quirky boutique hotel is set to feature two on-site restaurants, a trendy bar and a rooftop with views over the iconic Hollywood sign. Chic guest rooms will come with, iMac TVs and minifridges, while upgraded rooms will add sitting areas and open-plan bathrooms. The Walk of Fame and Universal Studios will both be comfortably reachable on foot.
