The Danish capital of Copenhagen is a delight to explore by any means, but there are few more enchanting ways to see the city than by boat.

There are a wide number of organised boat tours available that take visitors on memorable journeys along the city’s waterways and around the coastal islands on which Copenhagen sits. Most take place in small groups, but for a more intimate experience, this private tour invites you and a select group of family or friends to enjoy exclusive use of a boat with your own captain, for a choice of 1, 3 or 4 hours. During the tour, you’ll get to take in picture-postcard views from the water, including some of the city’s most famous landmarks, and there’ll also be a chance to disembark and visit an urban street food market where you can sample both local and international delicacies and dishes.

Full Tour Description

On the day of your booking, your private group of up to eight guests will meet on the pier next to bus stop Stormbroen, Nationalmuseet on Vindebrogade. Here you’ll be greeted by a member of staff from the tour company who will walk with you to the embarkation point by the waterside.

After boarding your Joda Tender 710 sailboat, you’ll meet your captain and have a chance to tell him how you wish to customise the tour to see the sights and places of interest that most interest you and your group. You’ll then set sail around beautiful Copenhagen, feeling the city’s vibe and soaking up the breathtaking vistas.

As you cruise along the water, your captain will point out notable landmarks while regaling you with entertaining tales and facts about the attractions that you pass and the city as a whole. While onboard, you can kick back and relax with a drink from the cooler (cooler is provided but drinks are not), listen to your own music, stop for a swim, or simply let the sights wash over you in total serenity.

Among the city’s highlights you’ll have the chance to see from the water include the Little Mermaid statue, the Black Diamond, the Parliament Building, Christiansborg Castle, the Stock Exchange, The Play House, Ofelia Beach, Our Saviour’s Church and the Danish Opera House. You’ll also get to see the buzz of activity in the unique district of Christiania, which was founded by anarchists and hippies in the 1970s and is today one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions.

If your party wishes, you can also stop off at Reffen, a renowned urban street food market, where you can tuck into a meal featuring authentic local cuisine, as well as food hailing from around the world.
