Perched at the north end of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland, picturesque Zurich caters to visitors with a number of properties available for short-term lets.
Travellers are increasingly eschewing traditional hotels in favour of properties that deliver a more ‘local’ experience. One of the most popular options for doing so is booking into a short-term apartment rental that combines much of the service you’ll find in a hotel, but with the added appeal of staying in something more akin to a home away from home. If you’re seeking a short term apartment rental in Zurich, we’ve looked around and picked out three of our favourite online resources to help you find the right one for your budget, preferences and needs.
Booking.com
Booking.com are our top pick for finding a furnished short-stay apartment in Zurich for period of anything from a few days up to a few weeks. The platform is mainly known as a hotel booking website, though they also have a sizeable number of apartments listed too. When we searched on the platform for daily or weekly rentals in Zurich, around 42 apartments were available, starting at €118 per night for a one-bed apartment in the city’s Albisrieden quarter. Booking.com also offer a Best Price Guarantee as well as a comprehensive customer reviews section under each property so you can view feedback from previous guests.
Blueground
Blueground’s service is tailored towards people looking for fully furnished rentals under flexible lease arrangements for stays of 30 days and upwards. A central difference with other platforms is that stays of over a month can end up saving you significant money as the longer your stay the cheaper the rates. During our search for Zurich apartments, we found around 55 available, mainly located in or around the city centre, and with a handful in the suburbs. The cheapest option we found was a studio apartment in the city’s Wiedikon district, priced at €1,982 per month (around €60 per night). The booking process is quick and simple, and there’s also a 24-hour support service accessed through a dedicated guest app.
Homelike
A popular accommodation platform for people seeking monthly rentals, Homelike’s flexible check-in and check-out dates allow guests to change their plans at the last minute. While booking through many other rental platforms can be a long-winded process, Homelike keep it simple, displaying high-quality photographs and basic descriptions of the apartments, and deploying icons to show the property’s amenities. On our selected dates, we found an impressive 406 apartments available with prices starting at €1,993 per month (around €66 per night) for a studio in the city’s Unterstrass quarter, and rising to €13,500 (around €450 per night) for a luxurious one-bed apartment, also in Unterstrass.
